Magisterprogram i datateknik - tillämpad artificiell intelligens, 60 högskolepoäng
The program is designed as an international venture. All lectures and course material will be in English. The programme contains 6 taught courses covering the major areas of applied artificial intelligence, followed by a 15 points thesis work. Entry to the programme can be in either the autumn semester or the spring semester.
Students who wish to continue to master level at another university can study two further taught courses instead of the 15 points thesis work, with the intention of completing a 30 points project during their second year of post-graduate study. Note that in this case the student will not be eligible for a magister degree from Högskolan Dalarna.
Mål
The goal of the programme is that the students will acquire deep competence in the theory and practice of artificial intelligence (AI). They will be experts in the design of AI solutions.
On successful completion of the courses the students will have reached the knowledge and proficiency in order to independently
- apply artificial intelligence to real world problems through the use and further development of modern software tools;
- document the entire development cycle of an AI solution;
- explain both the advantages and limitations of solutions based on artificial intelligence to people without deep technical knowledge;
- conduct research in artificial intelligence in a technically and ethically sound manner;
- conduct comparative analysis, both theoretical and empirical, in order to decide which AI paradigm is most suitable for a particular task;
- further develop their understanding of the field, in particular how it relates to other areas of computer science and related disciplines;
- audit and/or verify an AI system built by somebody else.
