MålThe specific objective of the programme is for the students to acquire tools of economic analysis and apply them to public and private policy making. The students will develop advanced skills, in terms of a solid knowledge in economic theory, in particular microeconomic theory and quantitative methods, for understanding and analysing economic problems. These skills are essential for a practicing economist in many applied fields. After completing the programme, the students will be prepared for staff and management positions that require the integration of microeconomic analysis and advanced quantitative methods in the public or private sector. A solid training in research is emphasised by requiring thesis work. In writing the thesis the student shall demonstrate and practise the ability to integrate the economic theory and methods in a context given by the research question.
