Jeanette Gossas, destination developer, graduated in 2004 from Tourism Management Program
What was the reason for applying to the Tourism Management Program?
I had been working within hotel and restaurant earlier and wanted to develop my knowledge about tourism management.
Why did you apply to Högskolan Dalarna and not to one of the other tourism programs?
I really thought that the syllabus was the best, but also because it was the closest to my family.
What was good about Borlänge as a study city?
The sporting activates were good, both for indoor and outdoor activities.
The activities around the University with the Student Union was really good.
The communications to Borlänge are good.
The housing is perfect since the distance to the University are close.
What have you been doing since you graduated?
I graduated in 2004 and I have been working at a tourist information centre.
What do you work with now?
I am working as a tourism destination co-ordinator in a community outside Borlänge called Säter.
My task is to co-ordinate and develop Säter as a destination.
What skills that you learned from your studies do you feel that you have the most benefit from?
Strategic thinking and being able to see relations within the tourism but also outside the tourism sector.
