One-Year Master Programme in Applied Statistics, 60 ECTS-credits
The One-Year Master Programme in Applied Statistics at Dalarna University is intended for students who wish to work as applied statisticians or who intend to proceed to PhD-programs in Statistics.
Upon completion of the program, the student will be ready for work as a statistician in several areas, e.g. administration, the drug industry, consultancy and applied research and statistical institutes.
On successful completion of the courses the students will have the proficiency to
- investigate a research question by use of statistical methodology
- establish contact with experts in the field and put together the analysis in a report within a predetermined time frame
- communicate the analysis to both statisticians and non-statisticians
formulate, estimate and interpret the output of Linear Models and their generalizations for both experimental and observational data
- examine the properties of statistical methods by use of Monte-Carlo simulations
