Learning outcomes for the course
In this course, students will continue to build their skills in listening, speaking, reading and writing Mandarin Chinese. On successful completion of this course, they will be able to:
- comprehend spoken Chinese at a fairly normal speaking rate on familiar topics
- converse with native speakers of Chinese with accurate pronunciation and tones, on a variety of topics
- understand an additional 350 Chinese characters (total 750 characters in the first year)
- handle approximately 100 sentence structures in Chinese
- write approximately 400 simplified Chinese characters, in correct stroke order.
