Learning outcomes for the course

The overall aim of the course is to prepare the student for the writing of a master degree thesis in African Studies. Upon completion of the course, the student shall be able to:

  • examine, with a high degree of independence, current epistemological and methodological assumptions of African Studies
  • identify contemporary academic tendencies within the field
  • critically examine relations within the global context of certain African states and regions.
