My main areas of research are editions of letters, travel reports in Scandinavia, Queen Christina's Italian court and cultural exchanges between Italy and Sweden with special reference to the 16th and 17th centuries.

Background

After a master's degree in modern languages and literature at the University of Macerata (Italy) I took my Ph.D. in Italian philology at Stockholm University in 2000. Since 2006 I have been senior lecturer in Italian and representative for the subject of Italian at Dalarna University.

 

Research

My main fields of research are the edition of various typologies of texts from the seventeenth century, the cultural relations between Italy and Sweden in the Early-Modern period. I’m the author of numerous essays on Queen Christina of Sweden and her court, as well as on the relations of Italian travelers in Scandinavia in the sixteenth and seventeenth centuries.
