What does “certified copy” mean?
A certified copy (or true/attested copy) is a copy you make of the original document. Two people must witness you copying the original. They must sign their names on the copy, print their names in capital letters underneath the signature, and include their telephone numbers under their names. The two witnesses are legally responsible for the copy being a “true” copy: by signing the copy, they certify/attest to the correctness of the document.

Your Degree Certificate and Diploma Supplement will be sent to the address you state on your application. If you feel it wise to have them sent by registered mail, please indicate this on your application.
What should I do if I think there is a mistake on my Degree Certificate?
As soon as you receive your Degree Certificate, please examine it carefully to make sure that all information is correct. If something is unclear or incorrect, please contact the Graduation Office as soon as possible.
If I lose my Degree Certificate, how do I get a new one?
Since the Degree Certificate is a document of value, you are unable to obtain a new original document. However, you may apply for a photocopy of the Degree Certificate free of charge. If you want a photocopy of your degree, please contact the Graduation Office.
Am I able to receive a new degree certificate if I change my "personnummer"?
Yes. Simply submit a new application along with your "personbevis" and your previously issued degree in original.
What is a Diploma Supplement?
A Diploma Supplement is an attachment to your Degree Certificate. It describes, in English, your education and the Swedish higher education system. A Diploma Supplement does not replace a Degree Certificate, nor does it guarantee that your education will be recognized everywhere.

No, every university has the right to make local decisions that regulate the issuing of degrees.
Do I have the right to appeal decisions? How do I go about this?
There are two decisions relating to the issuing of Degree Certificates that can be appealed: decisions about credit transfer from previous studies or previous work experience; and decisions that deny a student a Degree Certificate or Course Certificate. Appeals go to the Board of Appeals for Higher Education (ÖNH). The appeal must be in writing. You need to specify what decision you are appealing, and how you would like the decision to be changed. An appeal should be addressed to the Board of Appeals for Higher Education but should be sent to:
ÖNH, Högskolan Dalarna, S-791 88 Falun, Sweden.
The appeal must reach Högskolan Dalarna no later than three weeks from the day you receive the decision.

Do I need to study every course within my programme in order to receive a degree?
You are not required to study strictly according to the study plan if your programme leads to a general degree as long as you fulfill the degree requirements. There might, however, be certain restrictions if you wish the name of the programme to appear on the Degree Certificate. Check your study plan for information of that kind.
Will the name of my programme appear on the Degree Certificate?
The study plan of your programme must state that the programme name will appear on the Degree Certificate. The study plan should also list the criteria for this. There is a box you can check on the degree application form if you would like the name of the programme to appear.
Does a Degree Certificate look different depending on whether I take single-subject courses or a programme?
No
I have studied by distance. Does that show on the Degree Certificate?
Not unless you have studied a course that has “Distance Studies” in the course name
