Diploma Supplement
In accordance with a government decision, Dalarna University automatically issues a diploma supplement (enclosure to the degree certificate) that describes the course/programme and its academic level. Dalarna University has been granted the Diploma Supplement Label, which shows that the university is issuing the Diploma Supplement correctly along with degree certificates.
The Diploma Supplement is written in English and describes the level, context, content, and status of the studies completed by the student as well as the Swedish educational system. This provides foreign institutes of higher education with a good basis on which to make decisions about credit recognition.
The Diploma Supplement facilitates the foreign institute's understanding of the educational system and the individual's degree certificate. The institute also receives information about the institute where the degree was awarded. Decision processes are made simpler in terms of academic recognition, as well as recognition by professions. Furthermore, the Diploma Supplement helps those looking for work to be placed correctly in the European labour market, thereby increasing the individual's opportunity to find work.
The Diploma Supplement works towards creating a common European arena for higher education and was introduced into Sweden in 2003.
Please note that Dalarna University does not issue the Diploma Supplement on a retroactive basis.
