Terms and Conditions
The moment you receive a personnummer, your medical and dental coverage no longer applies! You are then instead covered by Swedish Social Insurance and pay the normal fees for medical and dental treatment.
Medical Care and Dental Care Coverage
N B: This section applies only to persons who are not citizens of a Nordic country, an EU/EEA Member State, Switzerland, or another convention country regarding medical benefits. Nor does this section apply to persons who are registered in Sweden and who therefore have a personnummer or who for other reasons pay the same health care fees as residents in Sweden.
The insurance covers emergency medical and dental care. It also covers the cost of medicines prescribed by a doctor.
- The insurance does not cover patient fees that you pay to visit a doctor for a routine appointment as these are covered by Swedish social insurance (normally 100 SEK).
- The insurance does not cover medical care in connection with pregnancy or abortion.
In addition, the insurance
- covers assault (under certain conditions: you must exercise normal care, and not put yourself in a situation where assault may occur).
- includes a liability cover. If subject to a claim, the insurance may help (except for motor vehicle incidents, where special insurances apply, or if you perform a criminal act).
