Free-Time Activities
There is lots to do in Falun and Borlänge. Both towns have large sporting facilities and the nearby hills are great for hiking and skiing. There are plenty of cultural offerings such as theatres and cinemas, and lots of small stages for music and other performances. Each town has a student union building with a pub, the most popular gathering place for university students of course.
During the summer months, there are many events and festivals put on in Dalarna, such as the Peace and Love music festival and Musíc at Lake Siljan (Musik vid Siljan). In the winter months, the popular Runn Winter Days are worth a visit for anyone interested in outdoor winter pursuits.
