How do I acquire a course certificate/diploma/degree?
Go to http://www.du.se/en/Student1/Study-at-Hogskolan/Degree-certificate---how-to-apply-for/Application-forms/ Print the form you need, for example “degree application 2010.pdf”. Fill it in and hand it in at the student reception desk in Falun or Borlänge, or mail it to: Högskolan Dalarna, Examen, S-791 88 Falun, Sweden.
Remember that ALL courses you want to include in your degree must be completed, and that all the credits must be reported in the University database. Check this by logging into “my pages” at www.du.se before sending in your application!
I have taken the final exam in my course, but on “my pages” it still says it’s incomplete, why is that?
After the final exam is finished it can take up to 15 work days before the result is confirmed in the University’s database. Please note that after the grade of the final examination is confirmed, it will take another couple of days for the course grade to be confirmed in the database. A course grade is to be available on “my pages” at the latest 20 work days after the final examination of the course. If it takes longer than 20 work days, please contact your Student Administrator for more information.
Extra examination in August?
If you fail one of your exams, you are entitled to re-do the exam. Dalarna University offers at least two extra examinations each year for each individual course. Students must have an active registration to take part in the examination. If you don’t have an active registration, you must contact the teacher responsible for the course, as re-registration can only be done if there is room in the course. After receiving the permission to re-register from the teacher responsible, a Student Administrator can help you to re-register. You can then apply for the extra exam through “my pages”. The teacher responsible for the course sometimes offers an extra examination in August, before the new term starts. It is however up to each course to decide. It is very important that you speak to the teacher beforehand, to check if the course will be offering an examination in August or not.
Students can only re-do examinations they have failed previously. They can never re-do examinations to earn a higher score/grade. Please note that some courses have a limit as to how many times a student can re-do examinations.
I will be away from my studies for a longer period of time. What do I do then?
If you plan to be away from your program for longer than a month, for example a whole term or a study year, you have to contact a study and career counselor. You will have to fill in the form “application form break of studies”. (It can be printed from http://www.du.se/en/Education/How-to-apply/Administrative-regulations/Break-in-studies/ ) Together with the study and career counselor you will then structure a plan for how you will continue your studies when you come back. For study breaks which start in the autumn term you have to apply before the 15th of April. For study breaks which start in the spring term you have to apply before the 15th of October. When you are to resume your studies, you apply for your courses like you normally do. (For autumn term the application period ends on the 15th of April and for the spring term on the 15th of October.) You are also to contact your study and career counselor and the teacher responsible for the program in good time beforehand to get information about any changes to the program that may have occurred while you were away from your studies. Note that you will lose your study place if you deviate from the study plan/time plan you agreed to when your break-in studies started.
Why is it not possible for me to register on ”my pages” ?
The web-registration is only open for a specific period of time! You can register on ”my pages” at the earliest one week before the course starts. Web-registration is usually open two weeks after the course has started. If you get a late admittance to a course a Study Administrator can help you to register. Contact your Study Administrator via telephone or mail.
How can I creat a secure course certificate/ registration certificate on ”my pages”?
