Health and Welfare
Research into the efforts of the individual and society to promote health and well-being as well as research into improvements in care and social work that support evidence-based work procedures.
Research looks at different aspects of health in the life cycle, such as public health, physical performance capabilities, disease-related risk factors, women’s and children’s health, aging and life-long states of health. Processes in care and social work take up the implementation of research in practice; the involvement of the consumer, client and patient; the care environment; and gender perspective in health care and social work.
Strengthening this research profile is a wealth of competence combined with cutting-edge competence in health care, and sport and fitness health sciences; the close collaboration with regional organisations involved with care, social work and sport; and the laboratory resources at Lugnet Sports Science Institute (LIVI).
