Mining and Mineral Engineering

The subject is a profile subject for the programme of study Mining and Geotechnical Engineering.

The courses may be regarded as a process starting with geology, containing mineral- and lithologic knowledge, general geology, quaternary geology and ore geology. The mining engineering courses provide the basics in rock mechanics – strength theory of rocks, mining methods above and below ground, mechanical equipment and methods for planning. The Mineral Engineering courses deals with the ways in which ore from the mine becomes a processed product.
