Material Science

The subject Material Science treats the connections between the construction of various materials (micro structure and composition) and the resulting properties.

The subject area is very wide ranging, and includes everything from traditional construction materials (f. example steel) to advanced materials produced for specific applications (f. example coated tungsten-carbide alloy for cutting processing). Courses provided include other than lectures in most cases experiments and project work.

The subject Material Science maintains substantial research in areas processing engineering, material- and coating engineering and process metallurgy.
