Law
Our behavior is to a large extent controlled by various norms. These norms have different origins and characters and touch different parts of our lives. Some rules take a special position in that they are recognized as court laws. Law is the teaching of these laws and their application. Law does not, like some other theoretical social sciences do, claim to primarily explain the world we live in. Instead, law sets out from a given system of rules, letting this serve as starting point for an understanding of society as such.
Law is a troubleshooting and conflict solution theory, which is why an important part of jurisprudential knowledge is juridical method. Law comprises to a large extent civil law criterion in respect of property rights but substantial parts of the course deal with taxation law and public law. Swedish law is central in the subject, but along with the increasing internationalization follows that international law becomes a more and more salient feature.
