Industrial Engineering and Management

Industrial Engineering and Management is a subject which combines engineering and economy. Industrial Engineering and Management comprises methods and tools to develop business activity, among other things through planning, follow up and control. Research in the discipline Industrial Engineering and Management at Högskolan Dalarna is mainly focused on:

• Development in Winding up and Impacts on Productivity
• Attractive working places

Research is carried on together with the sister discipline Business Administration and Management. There are also several courses in Industrial Engineering and Management offered at the university. The purpose is to provide an education in Engineering oriented towards Economy, which creates an understanding of, and skills in, the interplay between Engineering and Economy. The supply of courses offers two possible profiles, or orientations, for the education:

1. IT/IS is oriented towards information technology and -systems.
2. Industrial Engineering is oriented towards manufacturing and construction.
