Cultural Studies
Cultural Studies is a cross institutional subject which gets its theories and methods from Humanities as well as Social Sciences subjects. The subject applies a wide culture concept, including life forms and aestethic expressions. Even though focus is mainly on contemporary culture, especially popular culture, this is regarded from a historical and critical viewpoint.
Cultural Studies are the foundation for the Cultural Studies Programme, which is a wide ranging programme of education towards humanities and social sciences where students may choose between two orientations; towards the humanities or towards Media and popular culture. The programme is made up of a mandatory starting term, Cultural studies basic course 30 ECTS, which is only offered during autumn terms, and a finishing term, Cultural Studies Application term 30 ECTS, including activity placed project work. Application term is offered every term.
