New social justice partnership with University of the West of Scotland

19 Dec 2011 16:12

Dalarna University has recently become partners with the University of the West of Scotland in an advocacy campaign focused on social justice issues and environmental sustainability. The Non-Governmental Organization called ‘Academics for a Better World’ is led by Dr. Sandro Carnicelli-Filho a lecturer in Events Management in the Business School at the University of the West of Scotland and Dr. Karla Boluk a Senior Lecturer in the Human Geography Department here at Dalarna University. Both groups are starting to establish themselves on their respective campuses and are beginning to raise awareness of their efforts. Currently the Scotland group is running a photo contest and Dalarna University has just launched a logo and picture contest. The group is looking for the best logo or picture that represents ‘Academics for a Better World’. As such they are looking for a logo and picture that represent at least two of the following: children, sport, education, society and the environment. The competition closes January 31st and is open to all students at Dalarna University. All submissions for the contest should be submitted to: aBW-sweden@hotmail.com.
