Albina presented her research on International Tourism Forum in Arkhangelsk, Russia

The results of the first international tourism forum in Arkhangelsk, Russia “Development of tourism in Northern territories”  in the end of May, 2011 are made public at the their website (unfortunately all of the information  on the web-site is in Russian).


Albina Pashkevich together with the Erkki Hametoja, the project manager of Neda Ordym, a culture tourism project of the indigenous peoples of the North.

Moreover, a representative from our Department of Human Geography were present  on this forum - Albina Pashkevich. It was a part of the activities within the “Arctic Futures” project financed by MISTRA and done in the cooperation with Umeå University.

During her time in Arkhangelsk (Northern-West Russia) Albina made presentations on the following topics :

  • Role of tourism development for the sustainable development of the indigenous communities of Arctic
  • Arctic heritage use as a teaching material at the advanced level in high education.
  • Cultural heritage of the northern territories: some aspects of its preservation and use. Examples from Kiruna, Northern Sweden
