Borlänge is a medium sized town by Swedish measures. It has about 45,000 inhabitants. It is located in the province of Dalarna which is the third largest tourism destination in Sweden.

The town has fantastic surroundings offering both alpine and cross country skiing in the winter. On nearby Lake Runn there are a lot of activities both in the summer and winter time. The town of Falun is located 20 kilometers from Borlänge and is easily reached by bus.
