Avoiding Plagiarism
Plagiarism is using someone else’s words or ideas without acknowledging the source. In other words, plagiarism is an act of fraud, as it constitutes passing off ideas or words of another as one's own. Students who plagiarise may be suspended from their studies for a prolonged period. It is therefore essential that you learn to cite sources properly to avoid committing plagiarism (see Citing sources).
Refero is a web-based tutorial which explains what plagiarism is and how to avoid it.
