Högskolan's commission
The three areas of the commission
Högskolan Dalarna is an authority commissioned to pursue activities in:
Education
Högskolan Dalarna offers single subject courses and programmes of education for students.
Research
Högskolan Dalarna pursues research in several disciplines, but also in interdisciplinary research areas.
Co-operation with the surrounding community
Högskolan Dalarna’s commission regarding co-operation deals with placing education and research in society, as opposed to isolated outside of society.
The government is ultimately responsible for the university’s activities, but universities and university-colleges are commissioned to pursue these activities. These procedures are, among other things, regulated in the Higher Education Act and the Higher Education Ordinance. You may read more about these and other ordinances and regulations at the National Agency for Higher Education’s web site.
Other than these laws and ordinances Högskolan Dalarna has its own set of guidelines regulating how work is to be pursued within the authority and in relation to students and surrounding society.
