Royal Visit to Campus Borlänge

19 Sep 2012 06:26

On Wednesday, September 19, King Carl Gustaf will be making a visit to Dalarna. In the afternoon, he will be visiting Campus Borlänge for a presentation of the solar energy research centre and the centre for energy and environmental competence.

"It's great that our work has been recognised. We know that the King has had a long interest for solar energy, so I'm not too surprised he's making this visit," states Mats Rönnelid, Docent in Energy and Environmental Technology at Dalarna University.

Along with Ewa Wäckelgård and Chris Bales, Mats Rönnelid will be explaining the work that the university does on a regional scale with issues of energy and climate, and will provide examples of current research at the university.

Pilot province for green development

Dalarna is currently the pilot province for green development, one clear reason for the King's visit. Through the collaborative framework "Energiintelligent Dalarna", the province will be at the forefront in terms of questions surrounding energy effectivisation and climate.

The role of the university includes the project EMC, which is in place to develop collaboration with regional business and industry.
