SERC is housed in a 350 m2 building with offices, the Pleijel Solar energy library, conference and lecture rooms, and laboratories for optics, electronics and solar heating. In an adjacent 500 m2, enclosed yard there is equipment for solar collector tests and experiments:
Test and development of solar collectors
Test and development of pellet boilers, stoves and burners
Test and development of solar heating systems and system components such as stores, heat exchanges etc.
Optimization of heating systems with advances simulation programs
Test and evaluation of components and systems for small scale electricity production, e.g. PV-systems, wind turbines etc.
Field measurements
Measurements of optical properties e.g. absorbtance, emittance and reflectance
Analysis of energy systems
Training for installers of solar heating systems
Commisioned courses in solar- and bioenergy
