Solar heating and biomass energy systems

The first theme, Solar heating and biomass energy systems, means research about system technology for optimizing the combination of solar heating and biomass usage. So far the system studies have been focussed of the effect of system design and control strategy onto the yearly energy performance and carbon oxide discharge, how solar- and pellet systems can be designed nfor electricity heated small houses, and on development of compact system solutions of small houses without stokehold. The main tools of the work are laboratury- and fielsd measurements as well as modelling and simulations in TRNSYS. We want to increase the collaboration with actors in the field of solar and pellet and with constructors of small houses, we want to help in development  of system design of new and old houses, development of equipment, and education of installers of solar heating and pellet combustion. Furthermore we want to enlarge the working area to encompass also emissions af VOC and particles and larger systems than one-family houses.
