School of Technology and Business Studies
The School of Technology and Business Studies at Dalarna University affords students an international and interdisciplinary undergraduate and research environment. We offer courses and programmes in both Swedish and English at the first-cycle and second-cycle levels.
Currently the school has 130 employees and close to 2200 full-time students: the majority of these work and study at the campus in Borlänge. Our courses and programmes may be campus-based or distance web-based. Some are also based at Bergsskolan, The Swedish School of Mining and Metallurgy in the town of Filipstad. Characteristic to all courses and programmes is an openness and accessibility that places students at the centre.
It is the needs of the present-day job market that help us develop our courses and programmes, while internationalization and scholarly research are also key to their development. We educate the engineers, economists, businesspeople, community planners and computer scientists of tomorrow. Students are given the tools they need to gain the competence that they will require in their future professional lives. They are also given the opportunity both to establish contacts within business and industry as well as to make use of current research as they pursue their education. Although the school conducts research in a number of subject areas, our main research is focused within four of the six fields of research that Dalarna University has decided to prioritize.
