Dalarna University Granted 2.9 Million Sek for Research on the Cultural Heritage of the Mining Industry

Albina Pashkevich of Dalarna University's CeTLeR research centre, along with project leader Dag Avango and researcher Peder Roberts, both of the Department of Philosophy and History at KTH, have been granted 2.9 million sek over three years for a project.

The central aim with the project is to use field studies from various parts of Arctic Scandinavia to increase understanding of the relationship between mining operations and the survival of communities, as well as formulate experiences that are directly relevant to continued discussions about the future of mining communities in the most northerly parts of Sweden.
