It is important that you read our borrowing rules, since borrowing from us automatically means that you agree to abide by them. You can find information on loan periods, renewals, late returns and more in our borrowing rules.
Students and staff can use their user account as a library card. You can renew loans, reserve books and access e-books from home. You are also able to search for articles and journals within our databases. In our search service Summon, you can search for printed and electronic material such as books, journals and articles.
Be aware that if you use a computer connected to another network, you may experience problems accessing our electronic resources due to your network provider blocking our IP number. Contact us if you need help with this: firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are not a student or staff member, you can still renew and reserve books from home using your library card number and pin code.
The simplest way to find our e-books is to use Summon. Certain course literature is also available in e-book format. More information about how to borrow, download and use e-books can be found on our webpage e-books.
If you cannot find the article you require and are a student at Dalarna University, you may request for a copy of the article to be sourced and sent to your home address within Sweden. The cost for this service is 30 crowns per article. If you wish to request an article not available in the library, you can use our article request form. You will receive an email when the article is posted which contains details on how to pay.
Our subject guides which are compiled by our subject librarians, contain search tips and links to journals and databases within your subject area.
Book an Appointment with a Librarian
If you require help searching for information, you are welcome to book an appointment with a librarian. You can meet on campus or in a Connect room. The librarian you meet will be a specialist in information retrieval within your particular subject.
Receive Books at Your Home Address
If you are a Dalarna University student or staff member resident in Sweden although outside of Falun or Borlänge municipalities, you may request that books be sent to your home address. You are required to pay the cost of return postage. If you live in Dalarna, you can return the book to your local library at no cost. Only once the book reaches the university library does it register as returned. It is therefore important that you allow sufficient time for the book to reach us.
To request that a book be sent to your home address, you can reserve it either in the library's catalogue or in Summon. Once you have found the book you want, click on "Request", then select "Mail" and "Hemleverans/Home delivery".
As soon as the book is posted, it will appear under My loans. You will not receive a message informing you that the book has been posted.
Fines for Late Returns
If you have received a fine for overdue items, you can pay it using our plusgiro account 788116-2. Provide the account number 31427, the object number 48021000 and your name. You can read more about overdue items and fines in our borrowing rules.
Interlibrary loans that we borrow from other libraries are not able to be sent to home addresses. If you cannot come to the university library to collect or return your book, you may contact your nearest local library to arrange an interlibrary loan. Find more information on our Interlibrary Loan/Purchases webpage.
If you have the possibility to come to the library, you can book an appointment for creating a Legimus account. If you live further away, you can contact your local library in order to arrange an account.
